Official Diagnosis: Trump Is Healthy, Though Should Lose Weight

President Donald Trump maintains “excellent health,” according to a report released by the White House following his annual physical examination. However, the same document notes that he received preventive guidance on diet and weight loss.

The evaluation was conducted at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland, an institution that typically handles high-profile presidential examinations. There, Trump underwent cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and general physical tests, according to the official report released Friday.

The medical report was signed by Captain Sean Barbabella, the president’s official physician. In the note, the specialist affirmed that Trump is “fully capable” of performing the duties of commander-in-chief and head of state. That conclusion aims to dispel doubts about his physical condition in a politically sensitive year.

What exactly does the White House medical report say?

The official document states that Trump has “very solid” cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and physical function. Furthermore, it emphasizes that his cognitive and physical performance is excellent, a key point because the president will turn 80 this summer. Presidential health, therefore, returns to the center of public debate.

The note also describes the president’s daily routine. According to the text released by the White House, his schedule includes high-level meetings, public events, and regular physical activity. With that argument, the report attempts to reinforce the idea that his overall condition remains stable.

Trump reacted to the checkup with a message on Truth Social, stating that “everything had come out perfect.” That response fits the president’s political pattern, as he typically presents his medical reviews as proof of strength and endurance, especially in the face of his critics.

What did the examination reveal?

The detail that generated the most attention was weight. According to the report, Trump registered 238 pounds, equivalent to about 108 kilograms, during the examination. That figure is higher than the previous year and explains why the medical team included specific recommendations about diet and weight loss.

That detail is not insignificant. In a president nearly 80 years old, weight control is a relevant indicator because it can influence cardiovascular health, blood pressure, and mobility. That is why, although the report was largely positive, the mention of weight introduces an important and less triumphalist nuance.

The medical note also addressed two visible observations that had sparked recent comment. On one hand, it mentioned scars on the right ear consistent with a previous firearm injury, in reference to the assassination attempt he suffered last year, a fact widely covered by outlets such as Euronews. On the other hand, it explained the frequent bruises on his right hand.

According to the report, those marks correspond to ecchymosis, that is, minor bruises. The report attributes them to the combination of frequent handshakes and the use of aspirin as a cardiovascular prevention measure. That explanation
