Fans of South Korean group BTS, known as ARMY, are already building anticipation for the launch of a new special edition of Oreo cookies inspired by the group. The collection features purple coloring, a flavor inspired by Korea, and hidden messages inside the cookies.
The partnership marks BTS’s first global collaboration with a snack brand and also represents one of Oreo’s most ambitious international launches in recent years. The seven members participated directly in developing the collection, contributing ideas for the visual and conceptual elements of the product.
The special edition will arrive in more than 80 international markets, making this launch one of the largest global campaigns related to BTS. The cookies are expected to sell out quickly during the first days of sales, according to the brand’s official information.
What Features Do the New BTS Oreos Have?
The BTS x Oreo collection will include several details specially designed for fans of the South Korean group. One of the elements that drew the most attention is that the cookies will be purple in color, something Oreo had never used before. This color serves as a tribute to BTS and ARMY’s representative color.
The cookies will also have 13 different designs engraved on the wafers. Among them will appear the names of the members, BTS’s official logo, the famous heart gesture with fingers, and the Army Bomb, the lightstick used by fans during concerts and events.
The brand confirmed that there will be three special designs that, when combined, will form a hidden message for ARMY. This has caused many followers to already plan on collecting all versions. RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook contributed ideas directly for the visual elements.
What Flavor Will the BTS Edition Cookies Have?
The flavor is inspired by hotteok, one of the most popular street desserts in South Korea. Oreo explained that the special edition is inspired by this traditional dessert, which is a brown sugar pancake-style mixture. Hotteok is cooked on a hot griddle until golden on the outside and soft on the inside.
