The United States and Iran are “closer than ever” to reaching a historic peace agreement. Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, announced that finalization and electronic signature is scheduled for the next 24 hours. Pakistan is acting as a key mediator in this crucial diplomatic process.

Sharif stated on his X account: “We are closer than ever to a peace agreement.” The Pakistani leader confirmed that a “final and agreed-upon text” has already been reached between Washington and Tehran. This progress was confirmed early this morning by Islamabad authorities.

The electronic method confirmed by Pakistan aligns with what was previously announced by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. According to his account, the agreement has two main parts to resolve the conflict. Electronic signature will occur immediately after official confirmation.

What Does the First Part of the Peace Agreement Include?

The first part of the agreement concerns the release of blocked Iranian assets abroad. It also includes the lifting of the blockade by both the United States and Iran of the strategic Strait of Hormuz. The agreement includes an end to hostilities on all fronts, including the conflict in Lebanon. This point is crucial for regional stability in the Middle East. According to EFE, the final text has already been agreed upon.

Iran established a control system for Hormuz, where 20% of global oil transited before the conflict. The maritime passage is vital for the global economy. The reopening of the strait will ease the global energy crisis. Araghchi asserted on Iranian state television that “Iran is the winner of the war.” This statement reflects the official position of the Tehran government. The minister highlighted the benefits obtained by his country.

The administration of President Donald Trump also confirmed that the agreement was near. The White House is confident in achieving its “main objectives” with this historic pact. The U.S. president validated the diplomatic process.

What Does the Second Part Say About the Nuclear Program?

The second part of the agreement will address the Iranian nuclear issue at a later stage. According to the Iranian official, this issue will be negotiated in a subsequent phase. The atomic program is the main friction point between both countries.

There are 60 days to negotiate the final agreement on Iran’s nuclear program. This period will allow for developing the technical details of nuclear dismantling. According to Moncloa, the pact has not yet received official approval.
